This week was Silver Week (national holiday) here in Japan meaning almost everyone had a few days off work. Steph (my fellow Ichikashi teacher) and I decided to make use of our break and spend a day in Tokyo crossing off a few places on my (long) Japan bucket list. We somehow managed to go to SO MANY PLACESSSS which left me with no choice but to split this post into three episodes. I'm not sure how we accomplished all of this in one day but I guess it just goes to show what efficient public transportation + good walking shoes can do!
FIRST STOP : DAIKANYAMA.
WHAT: SATURDAYS SURF NYC. Whoa talk about the dopest surf shop/coffee bar I've ever seen. This place is too cool for words. Clean. Simple. Amazing coffee and pastries. Back patio with a city view. textbook amazing.
WHAT: TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE. Across from Saturdays surf is the ever popular book store Tsutaya. It's so cool you can't even take photo inside haha. Behind the bookstore are a few trendy brunch restaurants, a leica camera store (AMAZE), and a place to buy your dog a $500 stroller. yep.
WHAT: LOG ROAD. More art than shopping...this little pocket of Daikanyama is a tiny road with a brewery, a few clothing shops, a cafe, and good donuts.
We haven't even gotten to lunch yet! Episode II coming right up...
